LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) uses laser pulses to map and measure the environment. Here’s how it works:
• Laser Emission: LiDAR systems emit rapid laser pulses, usually in the near-infrared spectrum.
• Reflection: The laser pulses bounce back after hitting objects or surfaces.
• Distance Calculation: By measuring the time it takes for the pulses to return, LiDAR systems can calculate the precise distance to the surface.
• Data Collection: LiDAR collects millions of data points per second, creating a detailed “point cloud” that represents the scanned environment.
• Data Processing: This point cloud is processed to generate 3D models, detailed maps, and accurate measurements that can be used for a variety of applications, including surveying and environmental modeling.
We capture 360-degree reference photos to complement the scanning process. These images provide a visual reference that helps ensure accuracy during the drafting phase and allows us to revisit details later.
Turnaround time varies depending on the size and complexity of the site. We work efficiently to provide the best results within a reasonable timeframe.
